Linux Specialist & Platform ArchitectEarns knowledge of industrial automation systems
Contracted during the transition of NetTest's systems to the new Japanese owners Anritsu Group. After performing a deep analysis of their RHEL Platforms, on which the company core business products lay, conceived and realized a bespoke Linux distribution creating a completely new Platform that removed the then current storage and architecture limitations and dramatically improved system performances. The Platforms were based on RHEL4 and realized for 32/64bit DELL & HP servers, include an Oracle DB/AS customized installation + company's Data Warehouses, all delivered in a single DVD featured with a whole automatic installation system process. Thus the user interaction is reduced to the solely initial selection of the platform desired, guaranteeing following benefits:
  • simplicity: no other user interaction required (a key step!)
  • security: all installations are completed as programmed, without failures and in a consistent status
  • rapidity: also the needed reboot and restart phases are completely programmed & auto-managed
  • reliability: there has never been opened a trouble ticket for these platforms, highlighting the capacity to thoroughly test and troubleshoot the entire process
New installation guide is a 1/3 the previous size, and it is merely a detailed description of the new systems specs and the illustrated step-by-step post-install ncurses script, conceived to perform the main system customizations in few clicks without typing any shell command.
